Some people pronounce it 'Bowie' to rhyme with 'showy', others 'Bowie' to rhyme with 'Buoy', indeed more to rhyme with 'Howie'. However, it went largely unreported in the early 80s during David's period of referring to himself in the 5th person that he mostly used the pronunciation 'Bowie' to rhyme with 'Rory'.
